teaching dog tricks

LMAO, we just returned from chiro, / Che is limping again and I am thinking of starting doxy on him since I've run out of ideas/ but that is not what was funny. Melissa was doing Che's laser on hind legs, sitting on her knees behind him when Che started to climb up her body with his rear paws. See I've been teaching him to do handstand with back legs to the wall so he figured out he could do some tricks to earn food. Initially he just kept raising his hind leg up but then he moved up with his whole behind.... right into chiro face I was laughing so hard, but I do not think my chiro was that happy

Balance breaks for obedience drills?

Now if anyone has suggestions  on following. Those loooong heeling periods are unhealthy and boring, they suck the life out of me and my dogs. I am trying to get balance breaks in between but it is hard when everyone heeling ad nauseatum... Present science says that it is much more beneficial for dogs to have few minutes of concentrated training followed by balance break where  team is doing something else, preferably something that increases heart rate, like running, playing tug, twirling etc
I am having trouble and need to break my obedience class routine into small increments ... any  advice?
